Anjali may just be another 15 year old from the Southern part of India in a city called Chennai, but what many people don't know is that there is another side to her. She loves painting. She started painting at the tender age or four, deeply influenced by the rich and varied cultural heritage of India. Mesmerized by the colors of India and flawless nature she took to painting, with landscapes and florals her favorite topic. Her grandmother runs a trust for mentally and physically challenged children, and realised from a very young age how lucky she is.
That is when she decided to use her paintings for a good cause and there has been no turning back since then. She has contributed her paintings towards various campaigns to raise awareness about many burning issues in today's world. She works on three major issues - Health, Humanitarian and Environmental. UNESCO, UNICEF, UNISDR, UNEP are few of the many organizations this youngster has contributed her paintings to. Anti- Whaling, Preserving ecology and marine biodiversity, Conservation of endangered species of animals, Anti- Smoking, Anti- Bullying and many more.
"Art is a very powerful form of expression of ones feelings" she says. As it is the emotions that truly bring to life a painting. Colors have always triggered excitement in her and she never stops once her brush has touched the canvas. With boundless energy and immense creativity she tries to bring out the artist in her.
Art kindles the creative side of her and when asked why she chose painting she says, "I love art and all its craziness! Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. And that is partly the reason why I do it. I will continue to work for many more campaigns to raise awareness and spread a good message with my brush."
"The Year of Creativity is a great way of show casing ones talent in all art forms."
