Online Activities

To help celebrate the Year of Creativity, these online activities have been provided to help spread the messages of creativity in every place and space across the state.

To add your tips and activities, just send us your clips and suggestions, photos and ideas.

Print off the chatter box template and follow the instructions to make your own chatter box. TIP: Write creative questions on each flap to find out more about what your friends do to be creative!
Star chain Activity #2 Star Chain (new window) 206k Adobe PDF document
Follow the instructions to make one of the stars shown here. TIP: You can use this as a creative problem solving tool in your family or community. Choose a hot topic in your community that needs to be discussed. Get everyone to contribute ideas on their stars, and create a Star Chain to develop possible solutions.

Follow the instructions to create a paper propeller. TIP: In a group, stand so your propellers are touching, so that if one person blows, the other propellers move. How many can you move together?

Follow the instructions to create a paper butterfly. TIP: You can use these butterflies as book marks, gift cards, and room decorators.

Follow the instructions to create a Peace Crane. TIP: Find out about the story of Sadako Sasaki's creative message of peace. Use this story to create your own creative message of peace or peace place.

Use the instructions provided or create your own paper plane to create the best aerodynamically designed paper plane. TIP: Ask your parents about their paper planes designs from their youth. Hold a competition for most loops, longest distance, and best design.

Use these instructions to create your own kite. Decorate with poems, designs, your creative ideas and images. TIP: log onto the Queensland Kite Flyers Society to participate in festivals near you.
